Mark Bew MBE

Chairman HM Government BIM Working Group

Mark has a track record of delivering successful process and technology driven business change programmes from within the Engineering and Construction industry. These include the development of Building Information Modelling processes and the integration of engineering and commercial systems. He chaired the development of the UK Government BIM Strategy which was published in July 2011 as part of the Government Construction Strategy. He is Chair of the BIM Working Group which supports the BIM requirements set out in the HM Government Construction Strategy Mark is a Chartered Engineer with strong technical and commercial skills and a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science. He is a member of the British Computer Society. Mark was previously Business Systems Director at Scott Wilson Group and Costain Group plc, and has held positions with John Laing, Kvaerner Construction and GEC Avionics.

Rob leads the development and implementation of the Government Soft Landings programme across Government Departments. This responsibility includes identifying early-adopter projects to learn lessons and shape the policy; and engage with Departmental Champions to lead GSL within the Departments.

Terry Stocks

Set direction and manage the Task Group Support Officers, provide the link with Senior Departmental leads to focus on delivery of the April and October BIM stretch targets. Act as author for departmental reporting on behalf of the Cabinet Office and the Construction Client Board. As a member of the UK BIM Task Group Core Group, work to deliver and develop the aims of the Level 2 programme.

Jaimie Johnston

Core team member responsible for work packages relating to Delivery and Productivity (Plan of Works, Levels of Definition / Detail, COBie-UK-2012, PAS 1192:2 / 3, Data Management), work package leader for Libraries and Standards and the interface with the Buildoffsite community.A short Narrative about your role in the BIM Task GroupJaimie has been involved in engaging the individual departments of HM Government with a view to developing their specific BIM Implementation Strategies; the strategy for Ministry of Justice is being finalised, while engagement is underway with the Education Funding Agency and the Highways Agency.In addition, Jaimie has been heavily involved in the early adopter projects, working closely with the client and project teams throughout the tender stage and subsequently working with the successful contractors to test project procurement using models and structured data.Jaimie has also been involved in Government Soft Landings, assisting with the creation of the process maps and guidance documents and coordinating these with the wider BIM work stream.

Fiona’s role is to lead BIM Task Group Support Officer engagement with Government Departments and to provide liaison with the Core Team, to help ensure implementation and continuity, in order to drive compliance with UK Level 2 BIM Standards.

Member of the BIM Task Group Core Team responsible for commercial Work Packages.Leading Work Packages dealing with the following:• BIM Protocol and enabling amendments• Insurance guidance• Appointment documentation for Information Managers/BIM co-ordinators• Development of commercial information capture and exchange within BIM Models, including interfaces with COBie and Uniclass• Development of best practice for cost planning and estimating • Pre-qualification requirements under PAS 91I am actively involved in the support of departmental support officers and the development of PAS 1192:2.

David is responsible for ensuring that the Cabinet Office’s BIM requirements are delivered through the programme. He also manages: the stakeholder and communications strategy (both internal and external), laser scanning WP, SME BIM awareness WP and chairs the BIM2050 Group.
