BIM Task Group

The Yorkshire and Humber BIM Region aims to provide the natural home for BIM questions and answers in the region. The Hub intends to act as a filter to demystify BIM and help clarify processes and methodologies to empower the entire construction industry supply chain.

We will endeavour to offer detailed BIM information focused on the specific wants and needs of different disciplines including SMEs, manufacturers, education and the public and private sectors.

The Yorkshire and Humber BIM Region will represent the region ensuring our voice is heard at a national level.

The Yorkshire and Humber Region BIM Region has formed a strategic partnership with thinkBIM part of the Leeds Metropolitan University’s Centre for Knowledge Exchange (CKE).

The Y&H BIM Region and thinkBIM share a common philosophy and a partnership for our region will help ensure that the Yorkshire and Humber region remains at the forefront of the BIM evolution.

thinkBIM is a unique network of Building Information Modelling advocates and leaders who are accelerating change within the built environment through BIM focussed events and online discussion groups that continue to push the boundaries and drive real excellence in open knowledge exchange and learning. The network has a three-year pedigree of delivering monthly events that address all areas of the BIM agenda. These have included presentations on cutting edge augmented reality technologies through to BIM processes and procedures, on-site and in-use applications as well as introductory sessions to demystify the subject.

A keen advocate of open-BIM, thinkBIM has a number of key partners including Tekla , Graphisoft  and BE2. The CKE also has links to BIM Task Group, Y&H BIM Region Steering Group, Constructing Excellence , BIM4SMEs  and the CITB.

Each year thinkBIM host a series of events: 6 twilight events, 3 half day conferences, 3 online discussions groups which from 2014 will include input from Y&H BIM Region Champion Tom Oulton.

Attendance to events is a regular 50 + attendees at all events and attracts leading BIM professionals from across the UK.
